Brookland has been nicknamed ñLittle Romeî by some for the many Catholic institutions clustered around The Catholic University of America (CUA), BrooklandÍs main attraction. Brookland is served by the Brookland_CUA station on the Red Line of the Washington Metro. Brookland has a small but thriving business community with restaurants, shops and stores.
