Arlington County lies between Fairfax County on the northwest, Alexandria to the south, and adjacent along its southwest and southern borders to the cities of Falls Church and of Alexandria; and along the Potomac River north.æ Included in the county are several urban neighborhoods such as Crystal City, Lyon Village, Rosslyn, Ballston, Clarendon, Courthouse, Virginia Square, Westover, and Shirlington, commonly referred to by name as if they were each a distinct town.æ The entire county is inside the beltway (Hwy 495 that surrounds Washington, D.C.) _ the only county in the Washington, D.C. area with that distinction, with both a North Arlington and South Arlington.æ Arlington County offers a wide variety of housing options _ from modern condos, to townhouse developments, to detached homes.æ The Arlington zip codes all begin with 222.
