DC Living® is a proud founding partner and annual sponsor of the DC Design House to benefit Children’s National Health System (“Children’s”) – the premier residential design event of the year for the greater DC Metro area giving designers an opportunity to display their talents for a worthy cause. The event was founded in 2008 by the Managing Partners of DC Living® – Debbie & Skip Singleton – as a charitable event to benefit Children’s. The Singletons were moved by the mission of Children’s to not turn any child away from medical care by providing over $50M annually in uncompensated medical care to children and their families who are unable to afford it in our community. The DC Design House has grown into a significant annual fund-raising event for Children’s and the children of our community with hundreds of local volunteers now involved with running the event. In the first nine years over 70,000 visitors came to the event (including Vice President Chaeny’s wife Lynne) helping to raise over $1,750,000 for Children’s. The broader public community also enjoys and values the opportunity to visit the event to learn the latest in design from the area’s top designers, knowing that the money goes to support a non-profit organization that has an important impact on our community. DC Living® and the Singletons are committed to supporting the families and children of our communities by continuing this annual charitable event tradition.
