ALZHEIMERS ASSOCIATION

Having lost his dear great-grandmother to Alzheimer’s, DC Living® Partner Jason Skipworth decided several years ago to be an advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association.  His desire was to help promote awareness of this incurable disease, and to raise funds for research in the hope of finding a cure.  Jason has been a part of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s for several years, which raises awareness and funds for Alzheimer¹s care, support and research. Without funds and research there can be no cure. Jason was also fortunate to be able to volunteer one year at a local Senior Day Care program, where he was able to spend time and interact with senior citizens living with the disease. Most recently he was a one-on-one volunteer in a friendly visitor program to an elderly gentleman living with Alzheimer’s in assisted living. While the world eagerly waits on a cure, the greatest things we can offer those living with Alzheimer’s is our time, attention, patience, and love.
